As an R&T Product Designer at Driessen Catering Equipment, you will be part of a dynamic group committed to inspiring our customers and fostering a culture of innovation within our organization. Your role will focus on uncovering breakthrough and disruptive business opportunities in the form of products, services, or the combination of these, to support the future strategy of our company and portfolio.
Your key activities
- The R&T Product Designer contribute to the development and maintenance of an Innovation Vision for our organization.
- The R&T Product Designer is responsible for the discovery and development of innovation opportunities technologies and concepts to be applied in current and future products and services at Driessen.
- The R&T Product Designer is primarily focus on the following early phases of meaningful innovation (Exploration, Inspiration, Ideation, Validation) and is involved on the early stages of projects defined in the company’s Technology Road Map.
- Conducts research, market trends watch to identify new and emerging solutions within the aviation industry, Gather intelligence and assess potential opportunities.
- Develop specifications based on trends, market research, functional needs, and stakeholder requirements.
- Generate ideas, refine them into viable concepts and demonstrate its feasibility.
- Shares knowledge and supports other departments (e.g., engineering, certification) in implementing R&T concepts and technologies.
Our job requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in, Industrial Design Engineering or mechanical engineering.
- Educated in innovation, strategic development, creative facilitation, design research and engineering processes.
- At least two years of experience in a Design research and conceptualization function.
- Basic knowledge about circularity design is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of product service systems development, connectivity, strategic road mapping and business model development.
- Experience with 3D CAD systems (preferably Solidworks), project management principles and designing processes.
- Competent with MS-office, PLM/PDM system (SmarTeam) and preferable graphic design software.
